Turtle Survey Day Three

We are back in business and my phone has been resurrected from a watery death. After having to abandon our survey of the entire Alafia River due to inclement weather, yesterday we decided to visit our good friend and world-renowned turtle biologist Dr. Peter C. H. Pritchard.

8:45am - George and I are now headed to the Pithlachacotee River. This is a river found within a 79 km gap in the Suwannee cooter's distribution. We are going try and confirm its presence. If we do, it will be a new county record.

1pm - Success! We have now found Suwannee cooters in a river that they are not known from. This also provides a new county record for this turtle.
