Come watch movies with us at the Bruce Museum!

Have you ever wondered if a Tyrannosaurus rex could really chase down a jeep? Or how about if a stranded scientist could actually grow potatoes on Mars? Maybe you're more curious about whether sharks the size of Jaws really lurk in New England waters?

It's time to find out!

Summer has arrived and here at the Bruce, we're excited to be launching an all new summer series, Science on the Silver Screen. Come join us in July and August for three Sunday afternoons of movies, refreshments, and science!

We're bringing three films to the museum: Jurassic Park, Jaws, and the Martian. For each of these films, we've invited an expert in a related scientific field to introduce the film and watch with you. Afterward,  the expert will answer any questions you might have about the science (or lack thereof) shown in the movie.

There won't be any dry presentations. This is an interactive conversation driven by you!

Jurassic Park:

July 17, 2016. 1:30-4:30 PM

The Martian:

July 31, 2016. 1:30-4:30 PM

Jaws:

August 28, 2016. 1:30-4:30 PM

Want to know the best part about this movie series? It's entirely free with museum admission, including food, drinks, and beer! However, preregistration is required. If you'd like to join us, please contact me at kdzikiewicz@brucemuseum.org or by phone at (203) 413-6747.

How can you tell if a dinosaur was pregnant by looking at its bones? Swing by, watch a movie with us, and ask about it after!
