We hope you’ll come join us at Greenwich Point Park on Saturday, September 18, for the International Coastal Cleanup Day and official kick off event for our exciting new citizen science project.

Whether you have lived in Greenwich for a year, or for all your life, you have probably noticed its connection to water. Greenwich is bordered on one side by Long Island Sound, and contains many additional streams and tidal ponds. The waters of Greenwich are normally a source of recreation, but during flooding events, they can be a nuisance, or even a danger. That’s where Greenwich Flood Watchers steps in. This new citizen science project aims to monitor flooding of Greenwich’s shores and tidal ponds, and compare today’s floods to the ones experienced in the past.
